University of Connecticut fans have many choices for following the  action of the 2009 Blue-White Spring Football Game on Saturday, April 18.

The best way, of course, is to be there in person at Rentschler Field.  Admission and parking are free and kickoff is set for noon.

The parking lots open at 9 a.m. and stadium gates will open at 11 a.m.

You can also enjoy the game when WTIC NewsRadio 1080 AM in Hartford, the flagship station of the UConn Radio Network, broadcasts live play-by-play coverage of the game.

Joe D’Ambrosio is on play-by-play with Wayne Norman on color and Kevin Nathan providing sideline reporting.

You can also listen to the game on www.wtic.com.

And the new UConnHuskies.com site has two features for fans –  a streaming video broadcast of the game available for free, and a link that will be put up on the site on Saturday morning.

You can also check live stats coverage through GameTracker on the UConnHuskies.com site.

Did you know we have upwards of 800 daily readers, and sometimes more than 1,000 — that’s how many readers you can reach with our community calendar.

All you have to do is email the information to mansfieldeditor@htnp.com

While a few days lead time is a good idea, the nice thing about an online publication is that your event can be posted usually the same day — and the calendar is available to readers 24-hours a day, 7 days a week.

So, if you have a community event, or meeting of your civic organization,  or a booster for your child’s athletic team or other extracurricular activity — things of this nature — please send a description of the event, the date, time, location, cost, contact person and other details to mansfieldeditor@htnp.com
