Willimantic Orchestra needs musicians

The Willimantic Orchestra has openings in its 2009-2010 season for all string instruments: violin, viola, cello and bass.

In addition, there are openings for oboe/English horn, contrabassoon and mallet percussion.

Qualified players of all ages are welcome.

The Willimantic Orchestra is a not-for-profit community orchestra dedicated to performing an authentic orchestral repertoire at three concerts per season.

Its season runs from the second Thursday in September through the first Sunday in May.

The orchestra will rehearse on Thursday evenings, 7 to 9 p.m., at Shafer Auditorium, Eastern Connecticut State University, 83 Windham St., Willimantic.

First rehearsal will be Sept. 10.
