Gov. M. Jodi Rell today [Aug. 26] ordered all United States flags in Connecticut to fly half-staff to honor the memory of U.S. Sen. Edward Moore “Ted” Kennedy , who died from brain cancer in the late hours of Aug. 25.
“Sen. Kennedy dedicated his life to serving all Americans. Our country has lost a great statesman and all of New England has lost a tireless advocate and friend,” Gov. “Sen. Kennedy fought for those who had no voice and generated real change in so many public policy areas through his strength of will and his sheer determination,” Gov. Rell said. “As a tribute to Senator Kennedy’s life and his tireless work on our behalf, I ask that we lower all U.S. flags to half staff.”
The governor directed U.S. flags to remain at half-staff through the day of Sen. Kennedy’s funeral.
