ENERGY STAR logoYou may qualify for a no-cost home energy assessment through the Home Energy Solutions-Income Eligible (HES-IE) program, which is sponsored by the Connecticut Energy Efficiency Fund, in partnership with Connecticut Light & Power (CL&P) and the United Illuminating Co. (UI).

The program provides in-home weatherization services that will help you keep your home warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer, while lowering the costs associated with your energy use.

There are income guidelines that determine whether you are eligible to receive this service for free, but Home Energy Solutions wants any Connecticut resident who is interested to apply anyway, because the co-pay is affordable.

The program is open to renters, as well as homeowners, according to CT Energy Efficiency Fund Board Chair Richard W. Steeves.

Qualifying households may also be eligible for upgrades of inefficient appliances to ENERGY STAR®-qualified replacement appliances.

To sign up for the energy solutions service or to schedule an appointment, you can complete an application online at CTEnergyInfo.com or call 1-877-WISE USE (1-877-947-3873).

Renters must have their landlord complete the Landlord Service Agreement that is included with the application.
