CT Police make sexual assault arrest in Mansfield

CT STATE POLICE LOGO 2012Connecticut State Police report that on April 15, 2013 at approximately 11:45 p.m., Troop C Tolland received a 911 call from a resident on Eagle Court in Mansfield (Storrs), CT.

Police say the caller claimed a female was outside of his residence suffering from severe multiple injuries.

Police say the female victim suffered from multiple injuries. She was treated by EMS at the scene, transported by ambulance to Windham Hospital and transferred by helicopter to Hartford Hospital where she is currently in stable condition.

Police say the victim had been sexually assaulted while she was walking in the neighborhood; a male subject had reportedly fled and was riding a bicycle away from the crime scene.

A description of the suspect was broadcast to area police departments, all law enforcement were advised of the facts of this case.

Coventry Police Department Officers on patrol observed a man riding a bicycle on Rt. 275 (South Eagleville Road) and stopped him for questioning. Investigation determined that the subject was a suspect in this case, identified as 21-year-old Miguel Troche-Cabrera (DOB 07-01-91) of Hawthorn Drive, New London, CT.

The suspect was taken into custody by State Troopers and was transported to State Police Troop C where he was formally charged.

The accused was processed at Troop C and held on a $200,000 cash bond. He is scheduled to be presented at G.A. 19 Rockville Superior Court on April 16, 2013.

He is charged with: Sexual Assault 1st Degree; Strangulation 1st Degree; Assault 1st Degree; Unlawful Restraint 1st Degree; Reckless Endangerment 1st Degree; Breach of Peace 2nd Degree and Larceny 6th Degree.
