U.S. 2nd Congressional District candidates will field questions at a debate hosted by The Lebanon Connecticut Business Association (LCBA) to be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 14 at Lyman Memorial High School, 191 Exeter Road in Lebanon.
The LCBA’s goal is to provide citizens in Lebanon and surrounding towns with a valuable opportunity to ask questions concerning their own unique situations or issues.
A panel of journalists drawn from local media will ask questions of Democratic incumbent Joe Courtney, Republican candidate Sean Sullivan and Green Party candidate G. Scott Deshefy, who also is a Lebanon resident.
To ensure that discussion focuses on audience members’ interests and concerns, the panel will also ask questions submitted in writing by audience members.
After the question and answer session, there will be an informal meet-and-greet in the high school Atrium with beverages and refreshments provided compliments of LCBA
Lyman High School students interested in political science are working with LCBA to organize the event. Besides providing area residents with access to the candidates, this event is meant to encourage students to participate in the political process and be involved citizens.
The LCBA is a non-partisan group of business owners who meet monthly to support businesses owned and operated in Lebanon, or by Lebanon residents.
For more information about this event, contact LCBA President Pat McCarthy at auroramccarthy@hotmail.com or call 642-4160.
