Your chance on stage: open auditions for 'Wait Until Dark'
The roles are for six men in their mid-20s to early 50s, one woman in her mid-20s and one girl between 9 and 15 years old.
Audrey Hepburn was nominated for best actress in 1967 for her role in the thriller, "Wait Until Dark," in which a blind woman struggles to outwit three thugs who terrorize her for something they think belongs to them.
This nail-bitter will come to the stage of the Windham Theatre Guild in February, and you may have the chance to be a part of that performance.
The Windham Theatre Guild will hold open auditions for eight roles in "Wait Until Dark," on Sunday and Monday Nov. 16 and 17, beginning at 7:30 p.m., at the Burton Leavitt theater located at 799 Main St. in downtown Willimantic.
The roles are for six men in their mid-20s to early 50s, one woman in her mid-20s and one girl between 9 and 15 years old.
Auditions will be cold readings with sides provided at the audition. Scripts are available now at the theater for previewing.
Character descriptions and production information can be found online at http://www.windhamtheatreguild.org/ or by contacting the director Barry Schreier at barry.schreier@uconn.edu
The play will be performed on Feb. 6, 7, 13, 15, 19, 20 and 21.
