Joe Hurley will discuss his book “Ten Million Steps on Route 6, a Fresh Look at America & Americans from Cape Cod to California,” on Thursday, Aug. 8, at 7 p.m. at the Mansfield Public Library’s Buchanan Auditorium. This program is free and open to the public.
Let’s make compost soup
On Friday, Aug. 2 at 2 p.m., there’s some messy fun at the children’s program, “Compost Soup,” presented by the CT Department of Energy and Environmental Protection.
Children will learn about compost and soil, and build a “seed bomb” to plant in their own yard or garden. No pre-registration is necessary. This program is recommended for ages 5 and up.
Because children will be playing with dirt, please dress them in clothes that can get messy!
Calling all Teens and Tweens… on Wednesday, Aug. 7 at 2 p.m. for “Sticks and Stones.” Create something beautiful using objects from nature.
The library’s annual ice cream social begins at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 8 on the library lawn. Make your own sundaes and enjoy some fun and games.
