Gov. Rell offers reward for leads in Mansfield murder

$50,000 offered for information about unsolved murder of mother of two in 2005

Gov. M. Jodi Rell anounced today that she has authorized a $50,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for the 2005 killing of Anne Caro, a Mansfield mother of two.

"This senseless crime has left two young children without their mother," Gov. Rell said.

Ms. Caro's family has spent three agonizing years searching for answers in her death. It is our hope that this reward will prompt someone to come forward with essential information that will ultimately offer the family some closure."

Caro was found strangled to death in her home on Aug. 28, 2005.

The evidence recovered, and interviews with witnesses, have not provided State Police investigators with a suspect.

Investigators hope the reward will generate new leads.

Gov. Rell authorized the reward in response to a request from Tolland State's Atty. Matthew Gedansky.
