George "Ken" Flanders Jr. - March 29, 1938 - Nov. 7, 2008
He was a professional truck driver working for a number of local businesses and was most recently employed by the Mohegan Sun Casino.
George “Ken” Flanders Jr., 70, of North Windham, husband of the late Nancy (Morton) Flanders, died Friday, Nov. 7, 2008 at his home.
He was born March 29, 1938 in Nashua, NH, the son of the late George and Bernice Flanders Sr., lived in Connecticut nearly 50 years and had been an active member of the Moose Lodge.
Ken was a professional truck driver working for a number of local businesses and was most recently employed by the Mohegan Sun Casino.
He is survived by his fiancé, Pat Cote of North Windham; eight children, Fern Pate of New Hampshire, Richard Flanders of Pennsylvania, Laural Maurer of Canterbury, Dennis Flanders of Bristol, Robin Ober of Colorado, Timothy Gagne of Norwich, Scott Flanders of Bristol and Kenneth Flanders of Lebanon; three stepchildren, Tom Britton of Griswold, Billie-Jo Britton of Willimantic and Nicole Balkus of Ashford; a brother, Ronny Gagnon of New Hampshire; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren whom he adored.
His family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Rte. 195, Willimantic on Tuesday Nov. 11 from 6 to 8 p.m.
Funeral services will be at the funeral home on Wednesday Nov. 12 at 1 a.m. Burial will follow in the Windham Center Cemetery.
