Mansfield Middle School vs. Ashford Girls Soccer

Erica: We’re back!

Shannon: And this time we’re covering the girls soccer game against Ashford.

E: Whoa! Brilliant start to the game! Carolyn (assisted by Becca), has already scored!

S: And it’s only a minute into the game!

E: The ball is barely on our side of the field at all!

S: Carly, Murphy, and Danny (our defense) are certainly going to keep it that way!

E: After some great passes, Becca takes a shot and… Oh! A fantastic save by the Ashford goalie.

S: So far, so good. Everyone’s doing their part to keep the ball heading toward Ashford’s goal. Mansfield continues to go strong, Ashford has had no shots on our goal, and Gabby (our new goalie after Claire left for the MMS Germany trip) has not had to test her goalie skills yet.

E: Wow, we almost had another goal by Nicki, but it hit off the post, and just missed the goal.

S: A beautiful shot by Morgan almost scored us yet another goal!

E: The game continues well, each of our players is doing her part.

S: Wow! Laura attempted another shot on goal, but the goalie caught it.

E: Ashford has had no shots on goal so far…Gabby our goalie is just standing there and watching the rest of our people play on the other half of the field.

S: And the Mansfield girl’s soccer team continues to stay strong.

E: And as Shannon goes in (lucky…) I’ll be covering. S: Now the half’s over and I’m back!

E: And she’s gone again. Yikes, that was too close for comfort. A nice corner kick by Ashford nearly resulted in a score…but not quite.

S: HEHEHEH…I’m back in again. MMS is doing great keeping the ball away from our goal, which is now guarded by Arianna. Natalie just made a great cross kick and Sage almost tipped it in. …. YES! Natalie made a second attempt and made a goal!!! Ashford’s goalie dove for the ball but missed. Natalie swerved around the goalie and merely had to tip it in. The score is now 2-0, Mansfield.

E: Oh no! Ashford just ran down the field and scored! Arianna jumped high, but the amazing kick was in the top right corner of the goal, just out of reach. The score is now 2-1, Mansfield.

S: Erica is now in as forward and Suzanne is about to go in for Molly on defense WOW! Rebecca just made a great goal! The goalie didn’t even go for it! The score is now 3-1, Mansfield. With 1 minute on the clock, Mansfield is looking good. The referee’s whistle… …and that’s the game!!!! Final score, 3-1 Mansfield. Good game Ashford! Great game Mansfield!
