UConn Women's Volleyball serves up winning streak with 3-0 victory over DePaul

The University of Connecticut women's volleyball team finished its three-set victory in Chicago on Friday against DePaul, with the best hitting-percentage against a BIG EAST opponent of the season.The Huskies denied the Blue Demons the ability to earn more than 17 points in a single set, as UConn cruised to its 21st victory of the season.
Lauren Lamberti matched a season-high three service aces, and contributed six kills and two block assists.
Annie Luhrsen had a team-high four service aces and finished the match with four kills, three digs and a match-high 26 assists.
With eight kills for the Huskies, Chauntay Mickens paced the UConn offense.
Rebecca Murray was second for the team, recording seven kills.
UConn (21-7, 10-3) held DePaul to a .069 hitting-percentage, with eight players recording at least one dig in the game.
Jessica Isaac led the Huskies with eight, and Kate Seabaugh and Rebecca Murray each had five.
The lead changed hands twice in the first set and just once in the final set.
UConn pulled ahead to a seven-point lead (14-7) in the first, and scored five unanswered points, with Jordan Kirk serving consecutive aces.
The Blue Demons would come no closer than seven points after that scoring spree, despite closing in with their own four point run.
Luhrsen's kill ended the match 25-17, Huskies.
UConn led from the very beginning of the second set and took the 25-18 victory.
DePaul (6-22, 3-10) came as close as three points early in the match (8-5), but the Huskies pulled away with a series of scoring runs - with kills from Murray, who recorded four kills in the second set.
The Husky defense held the Blue Demons to a negative hitting-percentage in the final set (-.038) and limited the opposition to its lowest point total of the night (12).
DePaul had just six team kills in the 25-12 UConn win.
The Huskies remain in the state of Illinois, home to Lamberti and Luhrse,n for a 2 p.m. match at Notre Dame (13-13, 8-5) on Sunday. All the action can be followed with GameTracker, available on www.UConnHuskies.com
